This may get trashed in the transfer, but the original image has over a dozen galaxies. M87 is the large elliptical just right of center. North is up. Four 30 s frames stacked using Iris. If you click on the image you get a slightly larger less blocky looking version of the photo. The original image showed the galaxies in the Markarian chain about half way up on the right near M86. M86 is just on the right edge of this frame and nearly cut out. Posted by Hello

Jupiter - April 23, 2005 Posted by Hello

Jupiter - April 23, 2005. I seem to reaching limits of resolution here below what I'd expect from the telescope, but the seeing has been poor and focusing has been difficult. The collimation of the telescope seems ok. These were taken with a Criterion barlow from the 70's I happened to have in the junk box, so I may try a better barlow. Posted by Hello

Saturn - with barlow. Posted by Hello

Jupiter, April 22, 2005. The weather is incredibly clear after a front. But there is a lot of wind making the barlow hard to use. Posted by Hello

Jupiter, April 21. I had real focus/seeing problems later, this is the best image I could get. Posted by Hello

The floor of Plato. The rille to the east of plato (upper right here) is more visible than in the earlier photo of Plato and the Alpine valley. Posted by Hello

Jupiter w/2x barlow in color and flat fielded. The seeing has been poor, but some hazy clouds moved in and steadied the seeing down around 11pm. Posted by Hello

Here is a wider view, without the barlow lens. Posted by Hello

around midnight April 17, trying a cheap 2x barlow. Diagonal mark is artifact of dust on ccd trailing across planet. Will try flat fielding tomorrow. Posted by Hello
